Construction Begins on First Dwelling Units

This week we pour the first floor of living condominiums at Bahama Sands. The five levels of concrete and steel parking deck have been poured and the nine levels of luxury oceanfront residences will be built approximately one floor each ten days. Afterwards, the real work will start indoors as plumbers, electricians, drywall and all the other subcontractors begin their roles in building Bahama Sands Beach resort. We want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and a prosperous New Year. Thank you for supporting us at Bahama Sands.

Construction has begun on the 3rd level of parking at Bahama Sands Beach Resort and the weather is coperating with warm dry sunny days in the 60's and 70's. Two tower cranes work on the north and south sides of the 90 unit oceanfront project at 14th Ave and the Oceanfront.
Landmark Builders has placed Superintendant Mike White in charge of Bahama Sands. Mr. White recently completed Harbourgate Marina condominiums.

The second crane is delivered and erected on site at Bahama Sands Beach Resort. Concrete has been poured and reinforced with steel on the South side first level parking deck and the ramp to this deck has been poured on the north side. Landmark Builders of South Carolina is our General Contractor. Landmark is best known locally for the huge Fairfield Resort and Prince Resort. The Landmark field office is directly across the street from Bahama Sands Beach Resort at 14th Ave South and Ocean Blvd. in North Myrtle Beach.

Today our second crane arrived on site once again blocking half of Ocean Blvd. While the equipment was being delivered. Two cranes are needed to move materials until the construction elevator is built.
Almost all of the ground level columns have been poured and reinforced with steel. In a couple weeks, the first floor will be poured. This will provide needed space to layout construction materials for Bahama Sands Beach Resort. Pouring the first floor is an exciting time for all of the development team. It signifies Bahama Sands has started climbing upward to its eventual height of over 135 ft.
During the past week, long lines of concrete trucks lined up to puor the thousands of tons of concrete underground required the Southern Buildind Code. Much of the extra strength and weight is considered to meet the earthquake requirements, although nobody can remember this area ever having an earthquake. Homeowners appreciate the extra concrete and steel several stories underground to create a stronger building meant to last for many decades.

Bahama Sands Concrete and Steel Construction

Everyday Bahama Sands Beach Resort is visited by dozens of concrete trucks pouring tons of new material over the steel reinforced columns of your new oceanfront second home.
Specialized concrete forming companies employ talented and tireless workers to weave steel rods in the basic shape of our new building. The photo shows the collonade and stair towers. In the background are columns for the 90 condominium residences still waiting to be filled with concrete.
More photos will be available soon when the ground floor parking deck has been poured and the workers will be able to park their vehicles on-site. Currently, they are parking nearby and walking to the Bahama Sands.

Landmark Sets Pilings For Bahama Sands

After digging underground to pour concrete columns reinforced with steel, Bahama Sands is setting up the construction crane that will dominate the view til well into 2007.
Tropical storm Ernesto brought very little wind but a huge amount of rain that filled the construction dig like a lake. While all the water was being pumped out, we referred to the site as "Lake Ernesto". Now that all is dry, we are moving full speed ahead on Bahama Sands Beach Resort.
Photos of recent events on site are posted at www.condovacations.net . Don't forget, we have a new presale project, Carolina Sands Resort for 2009 on our websites at www.MYRTLE.com and www.condovacations.net. Non-binding reservations are available starting at only 479,900 Furnished Oceanview 2 Bedroom, 2 Bath. More about Carolina Sands soon.

Bahama Sands and Carolina Sands June Update

The Myrtle Beach Area has been named the #1 real estate buy for golfers by Golf Digest Magazine in its first ever ranking for real estate of interest to golfers. The effect will be felt by all Myrtle Beach area property owners. Golf Digest became aware that a large portion of the subscriber base was comprised of Baby Boomers approaching retirement, and felt a real estate report would have genuine value for its readers. "Americans bought more than a million vacation homes, and golf was a deciding factor in nearly a third, so people are buying these things like crazy," said Peter Finch, Golf Digest senior editor. "There's a boom in golf course homes. It's all over the country. We know that our readers are interested in this."
